what's your local weather?

We've been right around 116º to 118º all week, and sometime in the last few days set the record of the most consecutive 110º+ days, and they haven't stopped, and The Weather Channel doesn't have us dropping below that until the 30th.

It's looking like we're getting a very uneventful monsoon this year. Usually we start getting rain around the first week of July, a lot of the times the 4th celebrations end up being cancelled due to rain, and it'll rain at least a little bit every few days after that. We're now almost into August and our part of the valley has not gotten a single drop of rain yet. I don't think we've gotten any rain at all since March or April. Even more than usual it's really starting to feel like we live on Vulcan or Tattooine.

I saw a story on IG that this has been the hottest month on the entire planet on record.

IT RAINED THIS MORNING!!! It was really starting to feel like it was never going rain again, so this was very nice. It wasn't a ton, but it was probably a good half to one hour of going back and forth between fairly light and pretty steady. Even though the rain cooled things off some, it still made it up to 110º this afternoon.

A derecho is on its way. Strong winds and thunderstorm. It has hit my daughters' homes and caused tornadoes and power outages. I'm busy charging items and putting out the hurricane lamps

It's hot in the Bay Area, but I'm so thankful to be out of Las Vegas. There might even be a bit of marine layer, and it's not a dry heat like Vegas is.

Some parts of the valley got rain this morning, but not us.
When we first moved to AZ in the late '90s we'd get a thunderstorm at least every 2 or 3 days the whole season, but the last few year we've been lucky to get more than a handful of decent storms. All we've gotten was one bit of steady rain that barely lasted for 2 hours last week.
