what's your local weather?

Send it Florida's way, please! It's hot and dry here, and our air conditioning decided to quit working yesterday afternoon. :ack:
That sucks.
My whole lawn is pretty much dead. Yesterday the rain formed east of me and moved east so we got to hear the thunder for awhile but got no rain again.

I managed to coax it into working again. A repairman will be out early tomorrow, but a least we've got some cooling at the hottest part of the day.

My lawn has had it, too. Living near the beaches is nice, but not when the sea breeze pushes storm formation east and keeps pushing them that way. We could use a good steady three days of rain. Without the winds and storm surge, of course.

I hope you get some rain soon, Gary!

Was just messing with you; summers around my neck of the woods are known for strings of 38 °C (100 °F) or higher days.

There seems to be a misbelief that Finland is always cold and frozen. =) We have summer, yaay. Getting temperatures above 30C isn't unusual but also not very common. It does happen in June, July (and perhaps August?). On the other hand -30C is also something that happens here sometimes. =)

Still hot, still no rain. Storms have passed north and south of me on their way to the Gulf the past few days. But the A/C is still behaving itself, so I'll be happy with that.

What is this "rain" of which you all speak? I think I have vague memories of it, but it's been so long I'm not sure.
OK, joking aside, we haven't had any real rain here since Feburary or January.
Yesterday and today we hit at least 107F, so we've hit that time of year, where you start to go outside as little as possible in the afternoons. It wasn't to bad on my bike ride this morning, but it's definitely reaching a point where I have to get out fairly early.
