We're all gonna die!!!

My condolences. In Florida we've had a lot of rain the last few weeks so that's helped the temperatures a bit. It actually got down to 72 F a couple of nights.

It's soooooooooooooooooooo hot you can't find sleep here..........................

I sat at work today wondering who all those people were walking in, who would voluntarily take unnecessary steps outside where the temperature of the air surpasses the temperature of the human body.

Yet, somehow the body manages to keep its normal temperature or we would be dead.

Yes, because we stay inside, in the shadows, or near/inside cool water. And, of course, there are people who do suffer heat strokes.

I don't think so. I've been outside when it was 45 c, IE way above my body temperature and I managed to survive just fine. People in the desert get even higher temperatures and they go about their business all day. Our bodies are more resilient than you think.

First off, we're not in the desert. At least I'm not, and the people I see walking the streets window-shopping aren't in the desert, either.

Secondly, obviously people there have acclimated to the heat, and they too use tricks. Those long robes and headwear are not really a fashion statement there, it's a way to keep cool.

And finally, people do suffer heat strokes, they obviously do. At outside temperatures several degrees below the body temperature, even. A few weeks ago, they had an Iron Man qualifying triathlon in Frankfurt, and the female frontrunner Sarah True suffered a heat stroke, wonking, walking past the water booths because she didn't register them anymore, and finally collapsed just short of the finish line, on live television.

That's obviously the extreme situation, but she's also trained for this kind of activity, so extreme heat should not be underestimated as a danger to people's health.

It's 40 here too. But considering that Yesterday it was 45, it almost feels comfortable. It's amazing how fast we get used to high temperatures.

I agree, my daughter still wants to sleep under a blanket!
But my dog and son have more problems with the rising temperature
