I was more concerned with the demeaning language, rather than the perceived coarseness of any intended humour. Do posters really need to come into a thread with a topic as banal as the WEATHER, of all things, and be exposed to gendered insults? I know it wasn't directed AT anyone, but perhaps you have heard... language matters.

I just wanted to point out that it was totally unnecessary. Note that you didn't receive any type of warning, because I realize your post is not actionable in any sense. However, perhaps this will give you pause before posting such a thing again in the future; perhaps not.

The forum should be accessible and enjoyable to all posters. Casual sexist language can have a chilling effect on that. It's not just about my own "sensibilities" here.

Again, I refer you to posts elsewhere on the board here....and not just in TNZ....in which even mods have posted heavier stuff. Not getting into specifics or naming names because it is unnecessary.

For quite some time now, the term 'crack whore' has not been sexist, because it is not gender-specific. That is, if it ever really was, it is no longer.
