Don't worry, I'm not.
I have a friend who is, though, and if it isn't the most infuriating thing I ever put up with![]()
Tell me about it....... What kinds of things do they say?

She's very, very conservative, painfully so. Here's some of the lovely things she says. (not saying all conservatives are like this. I just happen to have a friend that is.)Tell me about it....... What kinds of things do they say?

- Global warming is a scam made up by the government
- Evolution is a scam made up by the government
- Climate change is a scam made up by the government
- We don't know what shape the earth is
- Justin Trudeau is a dictator
- Immigrants are taking all the jobs
- Deportation is good
- The n-word
- Men have "more biological advantages" than women (she says this to excuse sexism... HELLO???)
- That she is oppressed for being straight, Christian and white
- That Muslims "should just convert to Christianism"
- Abortion is murder
- Gender-affirming care should be illegal
- not something she says but one time i caught her watching ben shapiro in science class
I really don't know why I'm still friends with individual. I wish I made this up. I wish I was exaggerating. It's gotten almost comical at this point![]()
YUP! Fairly recently had to diffuse an argument between her and a mutual friend over what shape the Earth is that had left them not speaking.Oh good lord that would give me the shits if I had to listen to all that. I'd probably end up saying something that either breaks the friendship or hurts their feelings, or both

What shape does your friend think it is?
I understand that drifting a little bit off-topic is natural, but this is starting to go fairly far afield. Maybe you could pick this up in Random Thoughts or another more appropriate thread, and let this one go back to the weather?
It's Canadian-winter temperature now, thank God. About -20, which, although awful to tolerate, is much better than bearable spring weather when it should be the dead of winter.Worryingly warm lately. I live in Canada and I'm getting concerned by how warm it's been lately. It's winter; it should be freezing by now. Last Thursday it felt like spring. It should not be feeling like spring right now.
Not that it hasn't happened a million times before -- because it has -- but it's still surreal to see a literal inferno on the west coast while we're over here in virtual Siberia.
Fortunately for me, I'm 250 miles northwest of the fires. We had clear skies and above normal temperatures. High 67 F, Low 42 F. I hope the fires don't spread any further down there. What worries me, is when it finally does rain, if they get too much precipitation on burned out areas, before the vegetation returns, the earth and everything on it, will begin to slide downhill.I have a family friend who lives in the Los Angeles area. They're packed and ready to go if the winds change direction and they're told to evacuate at a moments notice.
