We have the opposite problem--it's a giant farm/marshland area that's flat as a pancake and has been covered in concrete. It's incredibly humid. We get about 50 inches (127 cm) of rain a year, on average. Flooding is a constant concern. BUT, Texas being what it is, if you drive 3 hours west, they've been in drought for about 10 years and worry about fires all the time.
It's about 80 F today--very cloudy but very warm.
Texas weather: yesterday was 80 F; tonight should get down to 39 F.
Better batten down the hatches.Cold and soon to be snowy. And a state of emergency has been declared ahead of the next storm, which can be best described like this...
