37C (99F) predicted for Hobart today. It has been hot around Australia of late. Adelaide, where my sister lives, got to 46.6 yesterday (116F) yesterday.

Today it's Melbourne's turn for the heat. Right now it's 40C where I am, but it's expected to be hotter in other places of the state.
Chilly -- lows in the '30s, but nice afternoons, in the 60s. I wish it was always like this.

It got up to 38C in Hobart and 42C in Melbourne.
My niece had to evacuate her home in Zeehan on Tasmania’s West Coast because a large fire is threatening the town. She is quite distress because though she got her horse and dogs to safely, her cats ran and hid and she was unable to find them so had to leave them behind. She also had to leave her chickens and fish.
There is a lot of smoke over Hobart at the moment which I think is coming from a fire about 60 km south of the city.

Strange, I always thought that that quote was attributable to Mark Twain.
