Haven't seen Enterprise and Discovery.

Interesting you select The Way to Eden and The Child as they aren't liked very much. Unconventional thinking always attracts my interest.

I have read opinions noting the camptastic Eden has at least one useful idea in showing that Federation society, tech and culture may not be perfect and totally fulfilling and there are dissenters. On the other hand some have said it is too reactionary (Herbert) in casting 60's youth counterculture as naive in its desire for a better world.

The Child seems to have only been dusted off and produced because of the writer's strike. I would love to know more about why you like it despite the criticism surrounding the premise of Troi being pregnant without her consent. Such a profound experience for Troi should have been explored later but the writers probably thought it best to drop it as it was an uncomfortable idea and repurposed script to begin with.

I'd like to see Troi and Riker now with their own child as a teenager. Parenting and legacy hasn't been done much on Star Trek with characters we know as well as those two. David Marcus was killed off so fast. Alexander's mother was killed off too fast. I guess Discovery is looking deeper into Sarek and Amanda as parents of Spock and Michael with emphasis on Sarek's difficulties with both of his children. I am hoping to see more of that on Disco.
