[Oh no, not another online quiz thing! - everyone]

Yes, but having read through the last one I started, it reminded me of another well-known system, and this one might be interesting indeed. And it's something I've often wondered, looking at the various posters here on the TrekBBS, to see how they would fit on the moral and ethical alignment system as used in the Dungeons and Dragons role playing games. You know, whether your "morals" are Good, Neutral or Evil; and whether your "ethics" are Lawful, Neutral, or Chaotic.

As it happens, Wizards of the Coast, the publisher of several Dungeons and Dragons role playing games, have this online Alignment quiz which I've been looking at, which everyone can have a go with. OK, it's not the perfect 36-question quiz, but anyway...

The quiz suggests answering the questions "in character" although it might be more interesting and fun to answer them as you would in real life. (Of course, this assumes some given fantasy elements like magic, orcs, dwarves, elves, enchanted swords, etc. actually appeared in real life, but you get my meaning I hope. :p)

Me, I got boring old L'Awful Good :bolian:

Lawful Good
A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. She combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. She tells the truth, keeps her word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion.

"She"?

Anyway, if anyone wants to try their hand at yet another online quiz, here's one to try. :) (Somehow I think we might get quite a lot of Lawful Good people here...)

Neutral Good
A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. The common phrase for neutral good is "true good." Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias toward or against order.

still at least they got the sex right:)

Sounds about right, I think.

Hm, i picked an option before doing the test...
The test says: Lawful Neutral
I thought i would be more: Chaotic Neutral

I thought I'd be neutral good. According to the quiz, I'm half right.

Neutral
A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn’t feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutrality is a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil. After all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he’s not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. The common phrase for neutral is "true neutral." Neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion.
All I know is my gut says "maybe".

Chaotic evil.

I assumed I'd be chaotic neutral at worst. The next time someone tries to tell me I'm a good person, I'm showing them my results.
