It was like a bowl cut! And the sides were kind of shaved.. it made him look older, much less handsome and like a dork.

Used to be everybody had the standard starfleet sideburns, and now you have Pike practically looking like Jerry Reed in Smokey and the Bandit, Kirk with square ones, and holdouts like Spock and Khan rocking the original for the most part. Makes me think that Starfleet is a little softer in the new timeline.

Starfleet gives their newest ship to a cadet and you think the sideburns are chief indication of a softer Starfleet?

If Pike had shaved properly, don't you think he would have thought a little more about doing just that?

I approve very much of those grey military uniforms, they look sharp and delicious in them. It's just not a hair cut I'm partial to on anyone and I think it did him no favours. As opposed to you J.Allen who of course would do him plenty of favours.

NuSpock was mine too, going into STID. Coming out, I am now a teeny bit obsessed with Benedict Cumberbatch. What is it about those gangly pasty Brits? Oh yeeesh.

Pike's sideburns really are distracting. I can't even remember when him and Kirk were talking about in that bar scene since my attention was fixated on those sideburns.

I went and googled Pike's because I couldn't conjure up an image of him with mutton chops. Haha I think he looked nicely greyed! Considering he's older than the others, he doesn't need to be so clean shaven.

Kirk's haircut gets really weird in scenes like the Uhura/turbolift conversation - when the POV cuts between shots you can see that the two sides don't even match around the ear area. And yeah, McCoy looks bad at times.

This movie is not going to be nominated for a Best Hairdressing Oscar, that's for sure.

How strange... Sideburns aside, I think the hair on both Bones and Kirk in the movie looked great.. Kirk's hair is an improvement over the messy hair he had in ST09.. And I actually like Bones haircut in this one...
