What's the titles of these episodes?

Hi everybody, I plan to buy the 178-episode DVD box set and want to jump straight in by watching my favourite 7 episodes first, but i don't know their names so can anybody tell me what they are so i can find them?
1- Some of the crew beam down to a dark planet and to their amazement find there's a Vegas-type gambling casino down there full of people having fun, but they can't or won't give straight answers about how they came to be there.
2-Picard is zapped on the bridge by an alien probe, and although he regains consciousness after just a short while, he apparently lived out a lifetime on another planet with a wife and family.
3- Dr Crusher is alarmed to find the crew of the Enterprise keep vanishing one by one until she's left alone on the ship.
4- The ship is hit by an alien beam that wipes out the crews memories of who they are, but apparently their orders are to destroy an enemy outpost, so they're in a dilemma of not knowing whether to follow that order without knowing exactly who the enemy are or why they have to be destroyed.
5- The crew go about their duties normally but notice little clues that suggest time has somehow gone missing. They ask Data to confirm it but he evades the question and they suspect he knows but is lying to cover it up for some unknown reason.
6- On an exploration mission to a planet, Data suffers some kind of technical breakdown and can't remember who he is or why he's there. He's carrying a case of what look like harmless rock samples but local people begin falling ill after his arrival.
7- A planet has been decimated into rubble by aliens, but Enterprise scans reveal there's a house down there still standing, so they beam down and find there's a friendly elderly couple living there without a care in the world despite Picard's warning that the aliens might come back.

PS- if any TTBBS members have favourite episode, recommend them to me and i'll make a point of watching them too..:)

So, if you like those episodes (listed by @Tosk) then try these :)

Contagion, Season 2, episode 11: The crew investigate the unexplained destruction of the USS Yamato, as their own ship becomes infected with systems failures that threaten to destroy them similarly.

The Enemy, Season 3, episode 7: Geordi is stranded on a dangerous world and has to work with a Romulan to survive, while Worf refuses to save another.

Data's Day, Season 4, episode 11: Data journals the day's events aboard ship, including preparing for Chief O'Brien's wedding, & a Romulan plot.

Disaster, Season 5, episode 5: The crew survive a shipwide accident, that puts varied groups of our characters in precarious situations, & at odds with each other

Timescape, Season 6, episode 25: A shuttle with Picard, Laforge, Troi & Data return to find the ship frozen in time and on the brink of destruction at the hands of Romulans

Thanx guys and 2 more epis spring to mind that i don't know the titles of-
1- Riker becomes 1st officer on a Klingon ship and has to throw an insubordinate Klingon across the bridge to win his respect.
2- The Enterprise is caught in a groundhog-type time loop but the crew breaks out of it by realising the significance of the number 3 that keeps popping up.

1. A Matter of Honor
2. Cause and Effect

Two more episodes I like spring to mind but as always i can never remember the epi titles-
1- Picard is absent so the command of the Enterprise is temporarily turned over to Captain Jellicoe (Ronny Cox?) whose manner is totally unlike Picards because he's brash, outspoken and not a bit diplomatic.
Before departing, Picard suggests he goes easy on the crew but he says "I don't mean to be blunt Jean-Luc, but the Enterprise is mine now"
2- Worf shuttles back to the ship after competing in and winning a combat tournament, but notices "reality" keeps changing for him, for example his winners trophy has turned into a second-place one, then later he discovers he and Troi are married.

Chain of Command, season 6, episodes 6&7
Parallels, season 7, episode 11

You should really watch all of them :D

Problem is, many epis don't interest me much, so when I buy the box set I'll only keep my favourite epis and give the rest to my mates like I did with my X-Files box set..:)

Heresy I say :cardie: that is wrong to me, in at least 3 different ways lol. It's wrong to the show. It's wrong to the box set & it's wrong to my sense of balance in the universe

I was looking at it in terms of a Paramount+ subscription, even for a year is likely cheaper than buying the entire series on DVD. Plus, with the intent to keep only the discs with certain episodes on them and give the rest away, what if you suddenly develop an interest in an episode on one of those discs you gave away? At lest with Paramount+ all the episodes are there regardless.

That's why I'd always hang on to a complete set. #1 that it's complete is a value in itself IMHO lol... but also if I was somewhat new or only peripherally familiar with a series, like I'm assuming @Dropship is, based on their questions, then I might know some of the stuff that drew me to it, but I could never be sure I wasn't missing out on a underrated gem

Besides, Star Trek has a knack for pulling you in with stuff that immediately appeals to you, & then, over time, winning you over with stuff you might not have considered your tastes, because you just start liking being in the show, & thus become more open to accepting a greater variety of their offerings.

That's the thing I miss most about the old TV show model. Shows today don't have the leeway to put out some misses now & then. There was a loyalty given to them, that allowed for an unappealing thing to creep up & pass by, largely undamningly (e.g. my dad hates Q episodes. I love them. He likes Riker. I kind of think he's a bit of a wind-bag lol)

I haven't watched Alexander episodes much ever, but once in a while if I happen upon them, there's a teaser or a B plot that has something that is useful to the whole show. That's TNG's charm IMHO

Yeah, I get it. But what happens when the subscription runs out? You don't have anything.

I understand the appeal of physical media on the grounds that it is yours permanently. They cannot take it away from you, nor can they decide to simply replace it with an edited version. For example, through Paramount+, the original versions of the TOS episodes simply aren't available; only the remastered ones.

My problem is that I hardly ever actually sit in front of an actual TV and watch things anymore. Generally, I am either watching on my computer or my phone. And that just does not lend itself to physical media. So I default to streaming services as my primary method of getting the shows I want.

Just to be clear, I'm not arguing that everyone should embrace physical media over streaming. To each their own. :)
