What's the status of Law & Order: UK?

Could any of our British L&O fans give a clue as to the current status of Law & Order: UK? We don't get it here in the US (at least I don't, since I don't have cable), and the iTunes Store doesn't have it, and so we have to wait for it to be released on DVD. Unfortunately there are only two sets - if I interpret the UK meaning of "series" correctly (what the UK calls a series, we call a "season"), the first boxed set has seasons 1 and 2, the second has 3 and 4. I can only assume the show has more seasons than this. So is the show still being made?

If so, are they still locked into producing only remakes of existing L&O eps, or are they finally able to do original stories?

I guess the best we can hope for is that the remaining episodes will at some point make it to home release. Unfortunately there's been no news on that point either.

I wonder if the US crew was ever planning on a crossover. Is the UK version even in the same "universe" as the US L&O is?
