What's the best kind of new TV to watch old shows?

Borgified Corpse is on about (old) shows that looked crap on video when they were made!
Not all old TV looks crap on new TV's. What I called old shows are the ITC adventure series and Gerry Anderson shows from the 1960's. They were all filmed on 35mm and all look superb on restored dvd's and blurays.
