What's in your wallet/purse?

^ It's a glass bead type thing my friend gave me. She's passed away now but I keep it in my purse and it reminds me of her. :)

Here's exactly everything I have....

[whole lot of stuff]

My wallet is also pretty-well worn out and barely able to hold itself together.

I'm so shocked. ;)

Try leaving half that stuff out of your next wallet...

Wow, you women really have it. I think I should start carrying a handbag, too. :D

No, no, no, you just don't get it. The girls already carry them, with all the junk one could possibly need to borrow off them, so we don't have to! :p

This seems as good a place to ask this question as any:

I've never got the whole "carry photos of your loved ones in your wallet" thing. What's the deal here? I'm assuming you're not going to forget what they look like, and no-one else is all that interested in seeing them (I promise you this is true, no matter how politely they ooh and ahh over the photos when you insist on showing them to random people). Do you actually look at the photos ever, or do they just languish in the back of the wallet? Never understood this one.

I actually had a friend of mine that works (worked, been a few years so I don't know if he's still there or not) in the TBI. He told me dumbest thing a person can do is carry to much identifying info. Don't carry your Social Security card, Voter's registration, carrying nothing with more than just your name on it, more cash/credit cards than needed, and no family photos. Family photos give out info not only about you, but who you know and from there if the person is crazy enough you've just put a bunch of people at risk. Carry things like student/work IDs and a single prepaid cash card in a separate wallet, and keep your real wallet hidden somewhere else on your person-- if not locked in the trunk or glovebox of your car or locker at work. He was a big believer in being a "ghost" when it came to living life.

Purse contains:

comb
emery board
lip gloss
pill box
two herbal tea bags (because I can't drink caffeine, and I sometimes end up at meetings or restaurants w/o other options)
one pre-moistened eyeglass cleaning cloth
cell phone (well, not at the moment, because I'm at home)
house/car keys (ditto)
spare car key (separate from the above)
folded up plastic bag for shopping
slim Filofax organizer/wallet (not one of those huge things that some people carry)

The Filofax contains:

calendar, address and "to do" pages
Cross pen
drivers license w/ address change card
emergency info card (doctors, medical info)
debit card
Health Savings Account debit card
medical insurance card
two grocery store cards
three other discount cards
museum membership card
an expense check from work
30 cents (LOL I think I'd better cash that check)
library card
library receipt (what they now give instead of stamping the due date in the book)
four coupons
three business cards (my own)

I just took out:

one grocery receipt
a few expired coupons
two sugar-free lozenges from last time I was sick
two business cards (not my own)
paint sample card

How is it any different than having pictures of friends/loved ones hanging on the walls in your house or in a photo album?
