You know, I like the fact that TrekBBS is moderated the way it is. In all actuality I've been a member here since 1999 (and moderated here too, under an old username) and the staff is great. The board stays (mostly) civil and there's a nice feeling of camaraderie, and even friendship, present that I don't see on most boards.

The fact that SPOCKED is even willing to have this discussion with us members is testament to what's different, and what I like, about this board. SPOCKED is a cool guy and he does a good job. So does the rest of the mod staff; Christian left the place in good hands.

I'll put it this way: it's not a bunch of 13-year old punks like TheForce.Net boards, and not a bunch of uptight insane wankers that explode at every little damn thing like Outpost Gallifrey. We're TrekBBS, we're chill. And the 114th largest board on the Internet.

So anyone who think's it's uptight, well... deal with it.

While I'd like to take the credit for being "cool" in this forum, I think all the credit should go to my pal Lord Garth whose tender fist looms large over XI every single day

The heck you say. Television Without Pity makes this place look like Mad Max's Outback (full disclosure: I've been warned twice in the last two years). Of course, moderator there is a paying gig, iirc. (I rather hate TWOP, btw, and have never even tried to post there. I find their brand of snark makes me want to hurt somebody.)
