what your ice cream preference tells about your character

So you could say, that when one gets married, one thinks one has purchased Vanilla Dream, but what one has really ended up with is Rocky Road. :ouch:

Oh darn, my favorite, mint chocolate chip, isn't on the list. I almost always order a mint chocolate chip milkshake. At Baskin Robbins I also sometimes order gold medal ribbon (chocolate, vanilla, and caramel streaks). At Cold Stone Creamery I order a Cake 'n Shake (cake batter ice cream milkshake mixed with yellow cake pieces). When I buy ice cream at the grocery store, I get mint chocolate chip, neopolitan, or Ben and Jerry's Americone Dream. What does all of this say about me?

I just pulled this off of icecream.com

As a Mint Chocolate Chip lover, you tend to be ambitious and confident… yet a little skeptical about life. You are a realist who prepares for the future, needing a solid plan to feel secure. While your stubbornness is a business asset, it can add a challenging element to your relationships. Nonetheless, your loyalty, honesty and dependability create lasting friendships and close family ties.

This seems contradictory to me....I am a bit stubborn though!

I love Vanilla bean.
I am a romantic, but I also love to experiment. Hell, I'll do almost anything once just to get the experience of it.

Personality wis;, I fit Strawberry. Flavor tip: if you make your own ice cream try adding a pint of blackberries to a vanilla recipe! It turns out great with choc. syrup on top!

Wow, that actually describes me very well!

Are those the only possibilities Rhubarbodendron?
Unfortunately, yes. (the post is just a slightly shortened but otherwise literal translation of said article on Hessian TV's website) But we could easily make up our own ones, I'm sure :)
Or use Qutluch's link and have a look at icecream.com's funfacts (thanks for your input. Qapla'! qatlho, even)

@ thestrangequark:
That's an interesting observation. What do you think is behind it?
Personally, I tend to believe that certain food traditions in the families might be the reason. In my experience people may adapt to foreign societies quickly on the outside, but they always have a strong tendency to keep traditional recipes/food preferences.
An ex of mine is part Native, part African American and part European (Italian & British). He's a cook by profession and does the most interesting (and yummy!) fusion of Italian, Ethiopian and Cayun cuisines.

It appears to be a European thing. On my occasional visits to the US I found that they have very different sorts of ice cream over there (and huge scoops! Twice to thrice the size we have in Germany) and that they generally tend to rename things rather than keeping the original names. Considering how few people outside of Italy are able to pronounce Straciatella correctly [approximately strah-cha-tell-a, stress on the 3rd syllable, for all those who wondered], that might be not a bad idea at all. ;-)

it's yummy :) Basically it's a very good vanilla ice cream with small chocolate chips in it. They are extremely thin and about 1/8 inch (3mm) square. This way the chocolate stays crispy but melts in your mouth almost at the same time as the ice cream. A rather thrilling sensation and hundreds of tiny chocolate flavour explosions on your tongue. Very difficult to describe but very different from the American ice cram with its big chocolate chunks.

I'm not sure if Vienetta icecream cake is being sold in your respective countries but that one would be very similar in taste and feeling.

[edit: and in case you wondered: my favourites are hazelnut and lemon. But I like Straciatella as well =) ]

Yeah, that mostly works for me.

@ Rhubarbodendron

I used to enjoy Vienetta a lot too:)

that you're either Asian or an eliticist? Just kidding :) I love green tea myself. If you live in GB, try Twinings' green tea selection. Yummy stuff! I had no idea, though, that you can make ice cream from it. However, in my region there's a gummi bear factory that makes excellent green tea gummi leaves..

I'd say green tea ice cream shows you're a well-balanced person. Educated, open minded and straightforward, yet valuing traditions, tranquility and poetry (haiku, propably)

5) walnut: lovingly
Nut-fans are family people with a lot of soul and depth. They are especially lovingly but not as temperamental as others.
Creepy thing is...that is kind of me  Nuts and fudge and that stuff usually is my choice when it comes to ice cream.

I love the same kind of thing.. but im sure no one would ever dare call me "not as temperamental"

( and I would go for the vanilla yougurt option also.. since I am 90% of the time on a diet and living it up on the rest of the 10% )

^That bit was the one I would especially eerily correct. I'm most often the most levelheaded guy around. Which doesn't mean the same as me always being that. I can lose my temper plenty.
