What You Loved and Hated About Voyager

Loved:
Janeway
The Doctor
Tom Paris
Q
The family-like atmosphere among the crew
The look of the ship
The Borg
The opening credits
All the two-parter episodes

Hated:
The episodic format
Janeway's holo novel from the first season, completely out of character
The Kazon
Chakotay/Seska baby storyline
Threshold
Tuvix
In The Flesh, ruined the mystery of Species 8472
The Fury, ruined Kes' character
Seven's hairstyle
C/7 romance

I still hate the overuse of the reset button. No matter how badly the ship is damaged it willl warp away at the end of the episode.

I didn't mind the episodic format, actually I LOVED the episodic format. I wish there were more peace keeping episodes but the Seven heavy episodes were fun at times.

I like the fact that they tried to explore some societal ills like revisionism, People that pretend that the past never happened and even try to erase it from history books.

Vulcans have always been assholes. Nearly every Vulcan we met in TOS was asshole-ish one way or another, and Spock himself was a jerk half the time.

Yeah, they were assholes, but they weren't bullies on Nickelodeon like they were in Take Me Out To The Holosuite.

And to be fair to Spock, McCoy was usually an asshole to him.

Spock: Careful analysis of the situation.
McCoy: You cold Vulcan monster!

Loved the premise.
Looked great.
Some great characters such as B'Elanna.

Hated the Chakotay / Seven romance. She should have been with the Doctor.
I would have liked to see more scenes when they arrived home, seeing their families after all that time etc.

Chakotay seemed to play his part absentmindedly at times. That's something I din't care for.

I agree his lost his teeth near the end. At the beginning he had more fire.

Also I think they should have explored his relationship with Janeway more. It got interesting at times but they could have gone further IMO.

I also didn't care for the Romance. However pairing her with the Doctor would have, in my eyes, been creepy beyond comprehension. In some ways he was her second father, like Janeway was her second mother. So, a father-daughter sure, a romantic one...no...no.

There was no need to pair of Seven at all imho, but if they wanted a Seven/Chekotay romance they should have taken their time building it up already in season 6 or, at the latest, early season.
And no, Seven creating a Chekotay sex program is not enough buildup, the relationship still came 100% out of nowhere from Chekotay's part.

Did you notice how Seven enjoyed picking on Kim?

I think there's something there.

Was the Chakotay/7 romance the result of a VOYAGER novel tie-in? When out-of-the--blue occurances happen like this, I always just assume that it's novels, or comic books that are being referenced, so that only the hard-core fans would "get" it ...

They got everything wrong in that episode including Janeway's favorite cup that used to be porcelain and not metal.

it wasn't a tie in. Jeri Ryan said that sudden C/7 was her only complaint with her character development. she said they should have either set it up right or forgo it. Smart lady.

Why is it that the actors know better how to write their parts than the writers? Someone is in the wrong line of work...
