What you DON'T want to see in Star Trek 3

F. King Daniel

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Kirk self-destructing the Enterprise in a tribute to the other ST3.

A Spock/Uhura wedding.

Time travel undoing the entire trilogy.

You guys. List more.

Borg, Q, V'ger or any other major 23/24th century villains, just a new character or a very well written and acted Kang/Kor etc for the Klingon War they seem to be hinting at.

Time travel, Ferengi of any kind, superwarp rubbish, that kind of thing.

Spock in a blind, violent rage. Mind you, it worked well enough in context in both the Abrams movies to date, but I think it's time Spock goes a whole movie with his emotions under at least reasonable control.

ditto. no kirk/marcus or bones/marcus and a spock who isn't off the charts with emotion.

No rip off, re harsh, re makes or whatever you want to call it.

I want Trek 3 to be like Trek 09.

Karl urban said it best when he said the third film should be ORIGNAL . I guess it was Karl's way of saying he hated the script of STiD....LMAO

Now for the above Comments.

1. No kirk should not be destroying the Enterprise, I believe that would take his character 10 steps backwards. His character seems to have made progress in last 2 films.

AH...Speaking of Kirk, I don't want to see him having sex with two women or a crew member making a reference about how Janice Rand was another one of his conquest....(I wasn't a big fan of the Chapel reference)

2. I am neutral on the S/U romance so I will give an unfair analysis on the relationship.

I say break them up or keep them together. Dont leave them hanging in the middle. Am not sure I actually want to see a wedding either however I say this without any conflict of interest unlike you King Daniel, who perhaps may want to see kirk and spock as lovers and not friends..

If there is a wedding, I hope it would be like Anakin/padme's wedding from attack of the clones (1 minute screen time). It should not be like the twilight wedding that will be very awful.

3. As for Spock rage , I am neutral on this as well. yes Spock should and should not keep his emotions under control, Nu-Spock only has 2 hours for his character to grow and act like the Vulcan/human hybrid he is. he doesn't have 22 episodes to show he can be emotionless.

4. kirk/carol...I don't know about this one. she was the mother of kirk's child in TOS, Its only natural that there might be something between them. David will perhaps not be born in this timeline, however I cant trust Orci when it comes screen writing.

Maybe there would be some kind of plot twist were Carol will end up with Bones.

Honestly all this things are just secondary. What is most important is that trek 2016 is something NEW with good science fiction...Some fans are still angry about the Enterprise resting under the waters ....we don't need more bad science fiction.

Lastly, Considering how Trek 2016 will be after Episode 7. the film will need to prove that it cant stand on its own without Mr. JJ Abrams.

JJ ditch this film for Star Wars, like most people he chose Star Wars over Trek, Trek now needs to prove itself again.

Bill J,

saying no romance is beyond ridiculous, Trek has always had romance...ALL FANDOMS (Star Wars, Matrix, HP, POTC, Superhero films) have all had romance. That is just is human nature. None of us would be alive today if some sort of romance didn't happen between two people.

Am sure all you males fans all have girl friends, some of you are married with kids with a loving wife. how can you ask Trek not to have that at all When trek has always been about exploring the relationship between all living species.

seriously..wtf????

Call me old fashion but I want Trek to have everything. action, drama, humour, friendship, romance, trust, family, loyalty....the lists goes on.

I rather see kirk and carol married than see kirk having a three way with women he probably wont even remember the next day.

(Still pissed about the Christine Chapel reference in STiD)

Many of the Trek films lacked romance. Asking for the Abramsverse swan-song to focus on the story isn't too much in my opinion.

maybe that is why trek could never be compete with this films in terms of pleasing a main stream audience.

LOL....Am just mildly kidding, but common, seriously....romance is just part of human life, perhaps the most important aspect of human life. I believe this is why husband and wife or two people who are in a committed relationship are suppose to mean the most to each other.

I dint want to go off the topic on this thread, however I am keeping it real.

Many Trek films finished in the Top 10 the year they were released. So, romance or not, they seemed to be satisfying audiences just fine.

The Riker/Troi romance didn't keep Nemesis from being beaten by Maid in Manhattan its opening weekend nor did it stop it from being slaughtered by The Lord of the Rings.

-No Lindelof. Not now, not even after the heat death of the universe.
-No romance subplot. I don't mind a few moments of the stuff here and there, but if you're making an action movie, the romance subplot almost never adds anything besides a filled checkbox to the movie.
-No "competence and pragmatism = evil" stuff. Trek is one of the worst offenders when it comes to this trope, especially when you consider the situations and the universe objectively.
-No stupidity on the part of characters and factions in the movie.
-A lone, black, huge supership.
-Poorly done analogies/allegories to contemporary events in order to be "cerebral," "significant," or "relevant." No one want to see incoherent, sledgehammer-to-face messages about stuff. Tell us a story and do it well - the theme will come organically from the mix of elements involved.
-Too many Trek references/in-jokes.
-No TOS rehashes. You've got a radically different universe, do something with it.
-
Lame Klingons. STiD made them into a joke of a power that made Admiral Marcus look like a paranoid loon instead of man going to desperate lengths to prepare his nation for war, like the writers seem to have intended.
-An ending that makes the whole movie seem like a pointless sidestory.
-No killing main cast members in the final act. If you're going to kill someone, at least give it enough time to make an impact and ensure there's no reset button.

Not yet another revenge driven madman with a huge supership who's trying to destroy entire planets ... please! Make the villain calm, sneaky and intelligent instead of hot headed and so full of hatred that he blindly does all the stupid things that Shinson, Nero and Khan did.

yes they did but I am talking of earnings.....even after 30 plus years, no trek film has ever beaten a star wars film in USA and in the global market. Trek makes money but it is not in the same league as star wars or LOTR

I honestly thought STiD would finally allow Trek to join the big money making club , raking in over 700 million at the global office, sadly that didn't happen:confused:.

but back to your questions, all films are always going to have romance. it just the way it is.

May I also add that maid in Manhattan and lord of the rings were better and more enjoyable than star trek nemesis which completely bored me?

Oh I also forgot to add...no more films about a mad man who wants revenge at Kirk, Spock or the Federation.

Let will Shatner have his cameo, which may perhaps be his last onscreen time on Trek.

NO time travel
As much as I love the guy, no Nimoy
No Shatner or any other original cast member while I'm at it
No ridiculous coincidences or plot holes
No transwarp beaming or taking 2 mins to travel half the galaxy, let's just forget they ever happened yeah?
