Watching the darts this month, I'm reminded that each match is usually preceded by the lengthy introductions to the players as they enter the arena, in the style of a boxing match at times, almost always accompanied by a blast of music to get the crowd and the player pumped up.
Now, in the recent Masters snooker tournament, they are doing the same thing for probably the very first time, and it was a little odd to see Jimmy White, Peter Ebdon and Ding Junhui walking out to the likes of Dire Straits, Survivor, etc. (the link works only for UK viewers... but this next link is worth it for Mark King's entrance alone
)
But it got me thinking. If you were about to take part in a big sporting contest (be it boxing, wrestling, er, darts), and were being introduced by MCs such as Michael Buffer, what would you choose as the music to blare out of the speakers as you stepped into the arena and among the adoring fans?
