All through history, Star Trek has inspired a lot a people. Our cellphones looks like they do because of Trek and so does lots of our technology today.

With the new movie actually trying to make it appears even closer to reality in this field (e.g. the Nokia comm board in the "vintage" sports car), what do you think will be the impact of this movie specifically?

My right arm will be a lot more muscular because of Uhura.

Perhaps nobody will ever use lens flare as an artistic device ever again.

Probably not a ton. No great big breakthroughs from my POV unless the drilling industry views this film differently than I do...

Looking forward like a child to the next movie and potential television series.

Dunno about cutting edge technologies... will have to think about that one.

I wish people would stop saying this. It's like some sort of self-replicating brain bug at this point.

    It pays to be ambidextrous.

Right, except it is true. Especially the cellphone part.

I hope that you are not implying that you can type on your keyboard with just one hand...
