What will be th impact of the movie on our day-to-day lives

All through history, Star Trek has inspired a lot a people. Our cellphones looks like they do because of Trek and so does lots of our technology today.

With the new movie actually trying to make it appears even closer to reality in this field (e.g. the Nokia comm board in the "vintage" sports car), what do you think will be the impact of this movie specifically?

 

My right arm will be a lot more muscular because of Uhura.

Probably not a ton. No great big breakthroughs from my POV unless the drilling industry views this film differently than I do...

 

This is what I meant with "less is more".

 

I wish people would stop saying this. It's like some sort of self-replicating brain bug at this point.
