"What We Left Behind" DS9 documentary delay speculation

In late November it was revealed, the 2018 DS9 documentary "What We Left Behind" was being delayed from an early February release. The delay was revealed to be related to Adam Nimoy stepping down as director to pursue "personal commitments and other creative endevours." Personally, I don't know what else he could have going on that is more important or higher profiled than the DS9 documentary. It was also revealed that Adam Nimoy and Terry Ferrell (Jadzia Dax) have a romance going on. I don't know if there are plans for a wedding or what.

Well, the documentary seems to have become a much bigger project from when it first began crowdfunding, increasing in length, including more interviews and upgrading footage quality. And it sounds as if most of the work left is technical. It was probably a good time for him to leave.

No it wasn't. The two things were announced at the same time but no connection was drawn. The reason for the delay from the originally projected release date was given by the team.

"Our original estimates for the premieres and film release was roughly February, 2018 -- this was long BEFORE the Indiegogo campaign exceeded all expectations, and the scope of the project grew. As such, our filming and editing schedule has expanded to include a number of new and exciting creative ideas. While we still are aiming to have the film done in early 2018, it is likely these release timeframes will shift back (slightly) to accommodate."
