What We Left Behind (documentary)

...I take it back. If you have to be talked into watching it maybe it's not for you.
Not "talked into it," it's just I have a lot of movies/shows I'm watching or making time to watch.
I'm trying to figure out if this is a watch ASAP kind of thing or more "get around to it."

It's a documentary about a TV show, but I would argue that it is the best documentary about a TV show. It manages to be far more than derivative of its subject. It's expertly crafted, creative, self-reflective, complex, and full of heart. And it's two hours of your life. If you watched the series and enjoyed it enough to talk about it on Trekbbs, you owe it to yourself to watch the doc.

No you don't need to watch it ASAP. It's a documentary about a 25 year old TV show. Nothing in its output will change depending on your urgency to watch it. Watch it when it suits you.

I recently discovered that the Shatner Store sells the backers' edition Blu-ray/DVD set with exclusive extras for $13, but I haven't been able to find the Shout! Factory special edition which has its own exclusive documentary.
