What was your favourite mystery story of TNG?

I love Timescape. It has everything I want in an episode; a sci fi story with an intriguing mystery that isn't revealed until the end. It has characters who aren't who they appear to be.

Fun comedy moments like Picard impersonating a boring lecturer and Troi's impersonation of a guy hitting on her. Picard drawing a smiley face in an antimatter explosion almost frozen in time.

Then there's the whole idea of Romulan weapons fire frozen in time on the crew and the enterprsie. It is all just so clever, especially for a time travel show. Star Trek is hit and miss with time travel shows. This was unlike other time shows for a change! Except maybe for the ending which I never quite understood why time reversed so far back. But that was it's one weakness. Oh and maybe another small weakenss the Enterprise was lob sided because it was adrift lol.

There have been lots of mystery stories on TNG but this one really stood out for me and kept me guessing until the end.

What was your favourite mystery on TNG?

It's so creepy when Troi is possessed by that alien. The part when she is describing how she looked in the mirror and it wasn't her looking back... that always struck a chord with me.

That really reminded me of some of my more... psychedelic days if you will... and how I felt when looking into the mirror once. I never did it again after that!

And that voice of hers!

The idea of a xenophobic race keeping itself a secret is really cool.

I prefer 'Clues' as well. I think the fact that Data was the only one who knew the truth and could not disclose it to anyone gave a lot of the episode's suspense.

I liked Timescape too.

And not sure how much Conundrum falls into mystery (they didn't know what was going on, but we, the audience, knew who they were), but I like that episode too.

I don't really have a favorite because in enjoy Timescape, Clues and Conundrum pretty much equally. They were all solid eps.

"Clues". I can still remember how I felt the first time they realized there was an entire day missing, and the tension skyrocketed when they realized something was off with Data.

"Remember Me" was pretty good, too. I don't know if "Cause and Effect" counts...that's the episode where they kept hearing themselves in their last moments, because they were caught in a time loop.

I'd count "C & E", another one of my favorites.

It's either Clues or Schisms. They both had a very compelling foreboding feeling about them that was quite infrequent on TNG. Riker's last line in Schisms is rather chilling

Though it's not my favorite, I quite enjoyed Allegiance too, with the Doppelganger Picard

myself i love clues , but remember me is my fav ep of all time . i love how everyone says " its perfectly logical to only have xxxx number of people on board and how she is the only one who sees how crazy it is.

Clues is the obvious, but even better mysteries were: Frame of Mind, The Survivors, Cause and Effect (which could be labeled a mystery show) or Identity Crisis.

I agree with the episodes that everyone has mentioned. I saw Night Terrors the other night and still find it mysterious. That alien voice in Troi's dream gives me the creeps - "Eyes in the dark... One moon circles..." And I love the whole plot of slowly going insane but nobody knows why.

I also like Schisms where the aliens are taking crew members at night. That scene in the holodeck with the clicking sounds is awesome. Try watching it alone in the dark!

I just finished watching "Clues" and I have to say it's one of my favorite mystery episodes.

Would Parallels count as a mystery Story? I'm just trying to think of ones that haven't been mentioned, and this was the first that came to mind.

I also liked Identity Crisis (Especially the holodeck scene, which was creepy) and The Nth Degree, but not sure if they count either.
