Stop whining and produce a link. The other threads you linked to had polls with far too many obscure characters. These polls cut it down to the main recurring characters.

I haven't created a thread like this one in particular (or I would have posted it just to combine the similar threads) but even if I didn't see one already, a "your favorite live-action Star Trek series" thread has probably been done on the trekbbs before. Amiright or amiright?

Much as I like TNG and as I think they both have their flaws, I think the original series overall beats it, if nothing else than for how much development of Spock and the alien species and how few continuity inconsistencies there were even though it was more episodic.

Since it only asked for favourite, I voted for TOS. I have an order of preference, but TOS is tops in series, movies, books, and comics. Pretty much all the way around.

But aside from references to the past episodes there generally is consistency in how they set up the universe, there are a few episodes where it seems the Enterprise is an Earth ship or the Prime Directive details aren't clear but those inconsistencies felt very brief and rare.

There were a few early episodes that had the Enterprise as an Earth ship and a mention of their being part of UESPA. The United Earth Space Probe Agency.

Voyager is my favourite despite the fact that I know it's has a lot more weaknesses than most of the others (the captain in particular) DS9 is clearly the jewel in the franchise crown. It has the most interesting characters, the most interesting setting, the darkest stories and is brilliant done but Voyager is in my heart
I've tried watching Enterprise a number of times and despite some good stuff, watching it really does feel like hard work
Frankly i thought Voyager became better than TNG. I wouldn't rank it first, but I think I would rank it third with TNG after. Voyager's characters were warmer, and in the end I cared about them more. Some of the aliens were very well done--eg, the Vidians, the Hirogen--and I thought the writing often really inventive. Tim Russ was marvelous, Jeri Ryan and Robert Picardo could be very funny, Mulgrew was pretty talented and also funny at times herself. TNG is hugely elevated by Patrick Stewart, far beyond its overall writing and production values. I often felt drawn into Voyager in a way I didn't by TNG, although in TNG's case I was so starved for Trek when it first ran that I might be misremembering some things.
I say third because TOS will always be number 1 for me, yep, and DS9 is THAT good. Not even going to get into that Bakula thing.
I find The Next Generation to be supremely satisfying! Knowing the series fairly well, I can tell you - with a high degree of confidence - that this particular series is a stellar role call of some of the best and brightest stars in Hollywood, at the time. And it's got Gene Roddenberry's stamp all over it ...
