What was the first STAR TREK episode you ever saw?

Kal-El

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Just interested.

What episode? What Series? What channel?

Me: "The Best of Both Worlds, part 2", TNG, BBC2- 06/05/1992 (I think  )

I think I saw it on video, probably around 1989/1990.. either Encounter at Farpoint or Naked Now (or both) I was 5 or 6 at this point !

"The Naked Time"- I was about 5 years old and my family was at my grandparents' house. I was channel-surfing when I flipped past the iconic image of Sulu wielding his fencing sword. My mom said something to the effect of, "Oh, dad and I used to watch this," so I tuned in for a bit...and that was my first mistake. :)

Though, having long since figured out I was gay, one wonders whether I was just into the shirtless guy running around a spaceship. :)

My introduction to Trek was Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, when I rented the video circa 1987. I think the first television episode I watched was "Encounter at Farpoint" when it premiered.

Catspaw in the mid 80s. That was my introduction to Trek. Later on my family went to see ST4 on opening weekend. I saw TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT along with the films in first run in order.

"The Way to Eden" during the seventies - I refused to watch trek at all after that for years until I got desperate for a sf fix during the Star Wars craze, and then finally saw a good episode (I think it was "The Trouble with Tribbles").

The first episode I ever saw was This Side of Paradise . It was in the early 80's when I was a boy, I was ill in bed, and had a wee portible telly in my room.
I was scunnered because it was a lovely bright summers night, and my pals were all out playing football and I was stuck in my room. But my dad, who knew I loved all things to do with space, brought in the wee TV and told me a space show was about to start- Star Trek! :) I was instantly hooked!

Of corse, at that age you drift away from thing very quickly, and although I loved the Trek films, I never saw another episode unil I was a teenager. That episode was the much hyped launch of TNG- Encounter at Farpoint . Although I must confess, it was not until season 3 of TNG that I was a devoted fan. ;)

Oh! Good Question!!!
I think my first episode was "Trouble with Tribbles" in syndication. I dont' remember when. I"m sure it was when I got home from school...and I think it was on the same channel as Scooby Doo and The Munsters!

Doctor Strange said:
"The Man Trap" on 9-11-66 - Day One.

(I was 11 and I LOVED it!)

Yeah, I was there. Of course I was almost two, but my father was a fan and I am assured that I sat at his feet and watched intently. Honestly I can't recall a time without Star Trek in my life... it forms some of my earliest memories.

The Doomsday Machine, probably '69 or '70 since my mother was there and she left when I was 5.

I believe it was "The Naked Time" on my local UPN station in the summer of 1995. After that I decided to tune in each night at 11:00 and saw a good deal of TOS that way. The other series soon followed. Still remains my all-time favorite TOS episode.

I can't remember there not being Star Trek.

Mom and dad were fans of the show back in the 60's and I, as a really little girl, would sit with them and watch.

hard to say an episode, first experience as a kid was 'The Voyage Home', i ignore any negative comments about it, you can't beat one of the first scifi/fantasy experiences with 'problems with canon'.

episode, would probably be one of TNG my flatmate was watching. i absolutely hated it then.

The Doomsday Machine, presumably the original airing. I was 5 and at someone elses houes.. my mother was occupied. It scared the crap out of me!! The music "dum dum--dum dum", the maw of the monstrous turd machine.. terrifying.

It would have been on WPIX in NYC. (Ch 11)
