What warp speeds corresponds to which BPM?

In TNG, the warp core beats in a low rhytmic way, but it is faster the ship moves, this is really noticeable in TNG - Where No One Has Gone Before. What speeds could be told by the BPM of the core?

You’re asking if there was a prop control panel with sticky notes saying “W1 / W2 / W3… W9.2 / W9.6 / W9.9”, and if the prep for an Engineering scene required checking the warp factor if it wasn’t clear from the script?

What Finn and Boris said.

From recollection, there was at least one episode where warp drive was down/offline/maintenance/etc but the engine still thump-thumped away. It's a cool idea, though, if they actually did the sticky note button thing. Even if a show were to do that, the complexity of television making, there'd still be one scene where something would slip through and a contingent of fans would gaggle around the fireplace and start roasting it like a marshmallow - no matter how cool the episode otherwise was.

It would be cool if they were actually that detail-oriented, but I don't think they were.

I mean, by this metric, warp 9.9 would blind the engineers.

I don't think the warp core directly correlates to the Warp-speed in that matter. That's all in the *warp coils* themselves. The Warp Core is also the main reactor or ship, and the lights are probably the micro amounts of antimatter they're smashing together to power the main systems. Sure, it might go up when you demand more speed from the warp engines and coils within them, but the reactors are also hella efficient.

In "Cost Of Living" it went faster as they approaced the new home for the space bacteria, but as the bacteria caused some decrease in fuction, the ship slowed a little bit down to factor 5 and so did the thrummimg.
