What TV shows would you like to see get a deluxe DVD release?

Married... with Children

Was released in Holland, of all places - I saw second-hand copies of the third and fourth season sets here in the UK about a fortnight ago

It's been released in the U.S. too. But the sets have been about as bare-bones as a set can get. No commentaries, no deleted scenes, no 'making of' and no original pilot (with different kids) to speak of.

Plus the picture quality is about as bad as it gets.

I would really love to get a boxed set of Magnum PI that had SOME extras. I mean, for God's sake, the show was on for 8 years and had a major star, but none of seasons had any extras. They are completely bare-bones.

I would also love the see a complete set of "The Sentinel." They released season 1, but because of some stupid lawsuit/legal issue, they never released the other three seasons. This annoys me to no end.

X-Files could use a remastering from the original film elements, preferably in Blu-ray. Season 1 and 2 look particularly bad.

We already have entire multi-page threads on the subject but Star Trek TNG would benefit massively from an overhaul. The DVDs were sourced from friggin' videotape for crying out loud.

Ohh, I agree. I love Magnum P.I. Give us a deluxe set with extras and a die cast Ferrari :)

Shoot, I just want the entirety of Touched By An Angel on DVD, even if it's just the episodes. The way they released the show in volumes instead of season sets was stupid, and then they just up and STOPPED after season 4... with 5 SEASONS left to go!!!

If they'd released in season sets, maybe they'd have gotten better sales!

I wish they'd release Star Trek Enterprise on Blu-Ray. And Alias as well. I think both shows would look awesome in the high def format. STE needed more extras especially commentaries by the cast.

My ultimate rights nightmare: Night Flight, the cult movies/music show that used to air on USA network in the 80's. Exposed me to so many cool things.

As an aside the things that exposed and opened my eyes the most to the joys of B-movies
were:
- The Golden Turkey Awards(book)
- Night Flight(TV)
- The Incredibly Strange Picture Show(TV doc)
- The Phantom's Guide to the Movies(book)

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I'd like to see a really nice collection for the old Thundarr the Barbarian cartoon.

I'm greateful they finally put Max Headroom on DVD but the video quality is pretty soft. I don't know if that's the best that's available but I'd love a deluxe remastered edition.

Along the lines of BATMAN, I wonder if we'll ever get THE GREEN HORNET on DVD?

This Fall would be the perfect opportunity, what with the new movie and all.

Here's another one for the 'never going to happen in a million years' file - "WWF Monday Night Raw/WWF Raw". Think about it. Here's a TV series that's been running since 1993, once a week, 12 MONTHS A YEAR. The sheer number of episodes is inconceivable.

I grew out of it long ago, but for childhood nostalgia it would be fun to watch some of the late 90s early 2000s episodes from the WWF's peak period.

THE ANIMALS OF FARTHING WOOD

It was an absolutely amazing, classic show enjoyed by children and adults equally. I adored it when I was a child and it was first on TV in 1993, and I absolutely adore it now (and I adore the books)
The BBC released it on VHS around just after each series was aired (I got them but subsequently lost them during our house extension and the fact that we had nothing to play them on didnt help) but they haven't yet released it on DVD.

Though there is an online petition to get it released:

Animals of Farthing Wood: Opening Theme

^^^^ that music just symbolises my childhood.

WHY WON'T THEY RELEASE IT!

S.O.V, I like how you managed to somehow be snotty and polite about your opinion at the same time. :D

It's an inborn talent. :D

"The Simpsons" is actually one of the few series where I wouldn't mind if not all of its seasons came out on DVD since I don't think any are worth owning after season 8, but it's too popular for that to happen.

I'm willing to go up to Season 12 in my full enjoyment of the series as highest quality. After that, it does start to go downhill rather quickly, or what we call "The Al Jean Years". That's not to say Al Jean doesn't make good Simpsons episodes, he does, but it's not the same caliber as the ones Matt Groening had overseen before leaving to do Futurama. That said, I really am a completist. You should see me and my 1/6 finished DS9 collection, and my 3/4 finished TNG collection. It bugs me to no end that they aren't complete.

I just remembered, I really wish "Sneak Previews"/'Siskel & Ebert"/"At The Movies" would be released in DVD boxsets. I'm sure the rights issues would be a nightmare because of all the movie clips they've screened over the years, but a man can dream. I could watch hours of that show...their conversations were so passionate, insightful, and entertaining.

On that, we completely agree.

At least they could go back and properly master "Triangle" so it was on par with all the other episodes that season (or, any season). It's a terrific episode, but it sure looks like crap.
