What TV show should I watch next?

No, I'm not asking for a recommendation! But what I'm wondering is - there are loads of sites for recommending your next book. You know the type, "I've just finished reading Dante's Inferno, what should I read next?" type sites. Plus sites that give you book ideas based on your ratings of previous titles.

Is there one for TV shows? Enter series you like and get recommendations or 'what to watch next'? I find I plough through TV shows and then want to buy another but am stuck for ideas. Any good sources?

Just Google "TV show recommendations." Three come up right away. How useful they are is questionable, but they are out there.

Pick a random show on Wikipedia, use it as well as the rest of Internet to find related shows, for any one look up viewer's ratings of the third season, repeat until you find one with appreciable ratings. You'd subconsciously select the shows that you think you'd like. It's a pretty good algorithm, although it shamelessly misses Firefly.

If you're on Netflix and have rated a fair number of TV series, it will recommend other series for you, just like with movies. How accurate it is depends on how many ratings you have in the system.
