What TREK "issue" episode challenged your views?

Answer..not a single one. I either agreed with them or thought they were bullshit. No issue done on Star Trek has ever challenged any of my views. TV rarely if ever does, Star Trek or non Trek.

Agreed. For starters, the whole premise of the Bajorans was one big Middle East metaphor, and a transparent one at that.

I can't say any of them ever changed my mind on a particular issue but two episodes definitely made an impression.

Let That Be You Last Battlefield really hammered home how stupid racism is. Bele goes off on how Loki is obviously an inferior species because his colors are reversed and the bridge crew just looks at each other dumbfounded. It really hammered the absurdity home to me. Hard.

In The Pale Moonlight is just such an amazing episode! This one really hammers home the fact that morality and life in general is shades of gray. I think that should have been the name of the episode - Shades of Gray. I've never seen a piece of fiction that made me think like that episode did. Just an incredible piece of work for something that's supposed to be mass market entertainment.

I tend to agree - maybe Trek preaches to the converted? Though a well written issue show can be thought-provoking, particularly if it's an issue you don't have strong views on or hadn't considered much.

A lot of episodes I can't really say since I was so small watching them they must've subconsciously informed my worldview (or not), hard to tell.
One that I only viewed for the first time a few years ago was Duet. That show really resounded to me and discussed responsibility and reconciliation in a way that was really unexpected. Great stuff.
