There is - but I wouldn't call it "using a research source"

I've referenced a Gary Seven story DC did. Don't think I've ever borrowed anything from those other comics.

Oh yes, that's right, and so have I. It was that DC story by Howard Weinstein that coined the term "Aegis" for Gary Seven's employers -- and that indicated that the Aegis was trying to protect the timeline from rival factions trying to change history, which enabled me to tie the Aegis into the Temporal Cold War in DTI: Watching the Clock (though I'd imagine Howie was building on the original, non-Trek-related pilot concept for Assignment: Earth, where Gary Seven was a time traveller protecting 1960s Earth from evil Omegans wishing to change future history).
