I have one non-Trek fan I never could turn because it's always too PGish.
What an odd reason.

I'm not a big fan of Pink.No love for the animated Klingons?
She's a wonderful singer.I'm not a big fan of Pink.![]()
People watch Star Trek because Star Trek. Not watching it because it plays it too safe isn't that odd. Some people, like myself, prefer a measure of realism over safe. What an odd reason.
No Klingons at all?So far, we've seen my favorite kind of Klingon.
If not for DS9 episode "Blood Oath", you could say it's like Earth where not every culture looks the same. But now....I just roll with it. Though I do wish they would pick a look and stick with it.All of them

And break tradition? Heaven forefend! If not for DS9 episode "Blood Oath", you could say it's like Earth where not every culture looks the same. But now....I just roll with it. Though I do wish they would pick a look and stick with it.
The change was made early in the creative process. If the blood is red, it kills the "this is not Klingon blood!" reveal at the end.I demand Star Trek 6 uncut version with the full red blood from the Klingon massacre digitally restored (word was it was only changed to pink to soften the ratings). Shouldn't be too hard to do with today's tech, certainly easier than remastering TOS and TNG took.
Could have done the same thing with a tricorder scan and kept the red blood instead of whatever violet-pink gak that was.The change was made early in the creative process. If the blood is red, it kills the "this is not Klingon blood!" reveal at the end.
Klingons like the taste of prune juice and bleed Pepto-Bismol. I'm sensing a theme.Could have done the same thing with a tricorder scan and kept the red blood instead of whatever violet-pink gak that was.

I always retconned it as the pink-purple Nickelodeon Gak blood was the result of some kind of seasonal or environmental change in Klingon blood that alters the color from its usual red due to having more of some substance that makes them more able to survive adverse environmental conditions or other threats. And now DSC has canonized both colors as being correct for Klingon blood. Klingons stabbed by L'Rell and Ash Tyler during her struggle to remain in power bled both red and pink blood.
The Colonel West bleeding out at the end wasn't even in the theatrical release of the film, only in the home video releases I believe. The change was made early in the creative process. If the blood is red, it kills the "this is not Klingon blood!" reveal at the end.

Maybe the Klingons from the mountainous provinces or planets (like Boreth or the First City seen in ENT) or ones suffering severe Ozone depletion or pollution (like Q'o'nos was at that time before and especially after Praxis exploded) adapt the pink-purple-ish blood because more oxygen is being supplied to their redundant organs to survive.

Yep. Complete with some bio-scan nonsense on a sickbay screen and Majel Barrett saying 'Analysis Complete. Klingon Blood Type Match - Negative'.
Or have Bones tricorder scan Colonel West and go "Jim, it's another goddamn shapeshifter! They're everywhere!"Yep. Complete with some bio-scan nonsense on a sickbay screen and Majel Barrett saying 'Analysis Complete. Klingon Blood Type Match - Negative'.
