NOTE: Until deemed safe by the Mods, NO SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard! Thanks! :)

I'm working out my head canon for a possible fanfic, and I'm wanting to base it on the adventures of the Riker-Troi family during the 2380's, but I'm having trouble deciding what ship to set it on. I never did like the Luna-class, and Riker always wanted a shot at commanding the Enterprise-D so I can see him commanding a Galaxy-class eventually. I'm going to post this poll and see which ship I should use as the setting for the new adventures of Captain Riker!

I believe Captain Riker would receive command of another Exploratory Cruiser after commanding the Titan. I could see him commanding either a Cheyenne-class vessel or one of the new Vesta-class slipstream cruisers. Of course, there is also his wife, Deanna Troi, and any children that the couple had while aboard the Titan.

I could, eventually, see Deanna Troi attaining a Captaincy of her own with a ship or a starbase of her own to command. We also do have to consider whether or not, Riker receives a promotion to the Admiralty upon the conclusion of his mission.

In the novels, Riker was promoted to admiralty somewhere in 2385 I believe, with his first officer becoming the captain. He did stay onboard, and it became his flagship basically as a sector commander.

I'm inclined to think that Riker commanded the Titan for quite awhile and then went into reserve afterward. He might have been recalled to do the occasional odd job or special mission for Starfleet now and again, and was only in temporary command of various ships for those times. His command of the Zeng He was only temporary, IMO.
