Was it simply to find a forum was there some other reasons?

I've been thinking about this and at the time, I felt I needed some sort of community relevant to my interests (that I could actually get into, barring horrible automated admin approval things that rarely work with others) due to a lot of heartbreak.
I feel I'm pretty casual though, both as a Trek fan, so I'm only here rarely, but it's still okay to browse.

But deeper still, there was always someone I was particularly very fond of that I never got to meet, and the one thing I knew about her was a love of Star Trek. I feel deepest down I came to a site like this hoping even *she* could also be here somewhere or maybe someone just like her.

But, I don't think I can never know for sure like.

In a nutshell, that's what I mean by this question. It was more than simply wanting to post on a Trek forum. How about you?

Back in 2000, I was wondering what became of the Borg Baby and the search engine brought to a thread here. I joined up a couple of months later under a different name. In 2001 I stopped using the other name and registered as Miss Chicken.

A forum I had visited shut down, so I started searching around for a new Star Trek message board and found this one.

I found this place in 2000ish. I had a boring desk job and this site helped me keep me up to date on matters of Trek. I dipped in and out over the years, and now Star Trek is back on TV, I spend more time here.

I spend a lot of time in Misc because another cool site I hung out at became overly political and sensitive.

The internet. ;)

I was an admin at a relatively small (compared to TBBS) Trek-themed forum where there were good friendships but not a whole lot of feedback on episodes (of Enterprise), so I sought out a much larger forum and came here.

That has unfortunately happened here the past few years.

As for me, Star Trek brought me here. I'm not as active a poster as I assumed I would be, but it is what it is.

I stay mostly because you guys seem to get the latest news on upcoming sci-fi books movies and TV shows faster than anybody else. Not always of course, but enough to be reliable.

Voyager was nearing its end and I was looking for information on the new series and came across the BBS. I lurked a long time before finally registering and joining the conversation. I was TheSeeker back in those days. I switched to my current name several years ago.

Startrek.com closed.

I think I was here before startrek.com closed, but those boards were not all that great. I remember I was lurking here for a while and a guy named Jammer was a moderator of the DS9 forum, but he also ran (And still runs) a Star Trek review site that linked to here. That's how I found the place and after lurking for a few weeks to a month, decided to join. Also, at the time I couldn't change usernames even though I wanted to so I had to delete that account and then started this one and in a few weeks it will be 16 years. Can't believe how fast time goes sometimes.

In October 2009 I still wasn’t over Ron Moore’s Battlestar Galactica and the way it had ended. IIRC I ran a search on it and found TrekBBS, which still had an active BSG forum.

The forum I hung out at most closed. I'd been lurking here, but decided to finally join after the other one closed.

Looking for news and discussion on this fancy new upcoming show called Enterprise.

I had just discovered Voyager and wanted to talk about it with other people. Typed in “Star Trek forum” and this place was the first suggestion.
