What Questions Are Still Left Unanswered?

There are a few issues that I have been thinking about as we approach the Series 6 finale and I wonder if there will be answers to these questions:

1. Back in the Series 5 finale we heard a voice in the Tardis that said "silence will fall." Do you think that will be answered in the upcoming finale?

2. The Doctor also stated at the end of Series 5 that he wanted to know who had gained control of the Tardis while River was aboard and piloted it.

3. In the Series 6 premier, [paraphrasing] didn't the aliens who kidnapped Amy said she was important to the silence. Or were they talking about her role with River?

4. What do you think was behind the room with the photos of Amy holding a baby?

What questions are still left unanswered?

1 - How long are we going to have to wait before we have a multi-Doctor story with Colin Baker's return?

2 - How can we get Babylon 5's Jane inserted into Doctor Who?

Who was the mysterious woman in white during the Tenth Doctor's final episode?

Will River Song's ultimate destiny in "Forest of the Dead" be averted?

Will the Doctor once again bring Sexy back to the TARDIS?

Prbably never get an in-show answer to the Woman in White. RTD said in a book or interview he intended it to be the Doctor's mother, but, it's up to the audience to decide who she is.

Having just watched Planet Of The Ood, I wonder if they'll ever delve into why they advanced so much in the 100 years afterwards.

There's STILL been no explanation on the show as to why the TARDIS went kablooey when the Doc regenerated. Sure, LOTS of speculation on this very board, but, as far as I can recall, NO mention on the show. And, I'm convinced this has been deliberate. I think this is still something floating out there.

Well, there was no logical reason beyond "Moffat wants a new console room, so let's trash this one." But, when you consider that the Doctor apparentally takes the time to visit every damn companion he's ever had (according to SJA) then yeah, the "held it in too long" is as good an excuse as any.

By the way, has anyone listened to the lyrics of Abigail's Song from A Christmas Carol? I just listened to the song for literally the first time since I saw the show last December, and I'd forgotten about all the references to "When you're alone, SILENCE is all you know..." Even the music is permeated with the mystery!

Plus the fact it's the first time (in recent continuity) that the Doctor has regenerated alone. Perhaps this is what might happen if he ever "lets go", but he didn't when Rose was present. (Yeah, the Master didn't blow up the TARDIS in Utopia, but that was probably his first "new life cycle" regeneration, while Melody was only maybe undergoing her 2nd. Check in again for their 10th or 11th go-round. There's speculation the Doctors regenerations might be becoming more violent. For all we know when Eleven regenerates (for real) he could end up taking out half a city.

Maybe it's because he "didn't want to go," and he held on too tightly, so kablooey! and yeah, he also went off and did a lot of stuff instead of letting himself regenerate..maybe that has repercussions.

Funny thing is it was totally the Tardis's (sexy) decision to change the console room since it was shown that 9/10 console room was fixed and archived and therefor could have been restored. This is the first time we have seen the Tardis make a big senteant decision (beyond taking the Doctor to places he is needed). So maybe the Tardis herself had some part in the console room's demise.

It doesn't seem to be the first time it's happened. The Doctor expected the TARDIS to look totally different when it was finished repairing itself, even before he opened the doors.

Will River Song's ultimate destiny in "Forest of the Dead" be averted?
I hope not.
It can't be.

As someone else said in another thread, the thing about River is that she has to die to be able to exist in the first place. If River hadn't stopped the Doctor from sacrificing himself in the Library, he wouldn't have been around to meet Amy and Rory. Amy and Rory would never have travelled in the TARDIS, and River would never have been born.

Plus it rather guts the whole doomed romance thing.

^ I'd thought it was all that Vinvocci radiation, plus the extra time he "held it in".

I think that Ten's regeneration was explosive because 'he didn't want to go.' He fought tooth and nail to stay in his (then) current incarnation.

Also, because it was cool and the new control room is much nicer. :techman:
