What projects are you working on or finished?

in progress...Learning Portuguese at gunpoint..(Darn if those Brazilians don't know that the USA DOMINATES the planet..but sheesh..

AM moving over this week, each night after work. 10 years of accumulated stuff makes it interesting. Am trying to hit Lvl 70 on MW2 in the late evenings. Am scrambling to replace all of the baby stuff we gave away as my son aged into a little boy-found out my wife is (at least) 4 months pregnant last night-no, not expecting this so all of the necessary tools/furniture are spread amongst friends in 3 states. My phone bill is gonna suck this next time around.

I have some parts for my SKS on order, should be here within a few days, then i will have pictures for everyone

Last week I finished and mailed a spec script to the BBC, a pilot for a series. Have to start a new project now, as well as a whole bunch of other stuff.

No rest for the wicked (musta been a baaaaaad boy...)

:( I wish I had time for non work/school related projects like you guys. Well, I have about 6 months left until school is completely over...so maybe soon.

But in the meantime I have tons of school-related crap to work on. Just today I started my Master's thesis project. It is in conjunction with my internship, where I will be working on a collection of historical documents. It should take about 4 or 5 months to complete the project itself. I also have to write the paper of course, but I hope to be doing that while the project is going on and shortly thereafter. Pretty much no one believes that I will finish on time - the program is supposedly two years worth of classes and a thesis but everyone in the program seems to be taking their leisurely time with it, sticking around for several years. I know they have full time jobs, but so do I. Actually I have two part time jobs, which I think makes things a little more stressful. But they underestimate me - I have no desire, money, or time to continue graduate school. I want to get out within two years, and so I will. Despite what they say, I am a very hard worker and very punctual - I will do this on time!

Oh, and I am crocheting scarves for my sisters for Christmas. Fun times!

To cut down all the trees in my back yard. It'll be awhile before I can afford to have it done. It's just that after that storm we had last year, I have decided I hate trees.

My current project is my real time strategy game, which I mentioned in another thread.

From a game development point of view, this genre seems to require a greater technical complexity than any other. So I've decided I'd like to get my head around it. This is my challenge to myself to make one. :)

There's not much to show at the moment really as it's mostly moving numbers around, but it does render the image below.

The parts at the top and bottom will become the in-game console, that one will use to order the buildings and units. I've chosen a stoney-brown and orangey-red colour scheme for this.

I have the viewport rendering the background for the menu screen at the moment. This is a gentle animated star flight from the perspective of being in orbit around this 'rogue planet' that's drifting through space towards earth, that will be the focal point and name of the game, unless I decide to change it. :)

Work: planning a new backup strategy for my stations video playout stuff, currently about 30 TB between news archival footage, programs, and commercial spots.

Home: re-plumbing the 2nd bathroom in our house. It was decomissioned long ago, years before I moved in with my sweetie. The plumbing was an utter nightmare, apparently done by her grandfather in the last days of life and under lots of pain killers for cancer. In some places, there are 3 different types of pipe & tubing in a 3 foot span. I anticipate a celebratory hot shower in the new tub this weekend!

This week's update.

I've altered the colours around and redrawn some bits. Blue seems easiest to work with on computers for some reason. Buttons are now handled properly, being something more than just graphics. They glow on hover, depress with the mouse, and trigger a button_click event. :)

I've began making the menu, using said buttons.

I've also added a splash screen which displays while all the graphics and media are all being loaded into memory, which isn't a great deal of data at the moment.

Oh, and I have a game logo :D

Still not much to show. :p
