What other 80s Cartoons would make decent live action movies?

Actually Thundercats and a new He-Man movies were in development up until a few weeks ago. Rumor has it that they both have been shelved... I just can't remember where I read it. (I think it was Trek Movie.)

Dungeons and Dragons.

Not just a fantasy film calling itself that, but straight up DaD with Hank, Shelia, Eric, Bobby, Dianne, and Presto trying to decipher Dungeon Master's clues to get home...

Not to be overly nitpicky, but Captain Planet was conceived in the 90s, not the 80s. Answering the question, though, I'd love to see a new He-Man movie (despite the fact that the original movie, Masters of the Universe, is one of my favorite 'guilty pleasure' flicks). A D&D movie, based on the cartoon, would also be awesome.

Other than that, I think the following cartoons would make excellent live-action movies:
She-Ra (don't care if this makes me seem gay or not; I liked the cartoon because of its connections to He-Man, which was always one of my favorites)
Jaycee and the Wheeled Warriors
Bravestarr
Silverhawks
C.O.P.S.
M.A.S.K.

Speaking of M.A.S.K., I personally feel it has more in common with G.I. Joe than it does with Transformers.

hooray! someone else said Visionaries.

with the right director and writer and approach, it could be the new LOTR.

(massive epic fantasy trilogy i mean)

Some people have already proposed 90s cartoons so I'm gonna continue that breaking-the-OP. :D

I'll third (?) Captain Planet, although I have no idea off the top of my head how you could make that one work.

Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego - the cartoon version, with the big sis and little brother detectives chasing Carmen. Just call it Carmen Sandiego and have her be not an out and out villain like the cartoon did.

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest - with the older kids and adding in Jessie Bannon, this would work better than the original series. Drop the Questworld angle and make it a globetrotting adventure - maybe Ezekiel Rage for a villain.

It may be from the Nineties, but how about "Pirates of Darkwater"?

Noyjitat!

And I second Thundarr, though I think he is from the late 70's.

I had a few action figures at one time.

I could see this as a movie trilogy.

I'm for it. As I recall it was imported from a European cartoon, so there is probably some global appeal. I honestly barely remember it other than that I loved it and it had a parrot monkey and my 7th(?) birthday was PoDW themed.

Another one from the 90s which I'd say is almost perfect for a live action movie:

I'm too lazy to look. Has anyone said "Battle of the Planets" yet"
