We've seen it, we've discussed it, we've loved it or hated it but for god's sake there must be more to discuss than the nerdish and anal breakdown of every scene and subplot that has infested these pages over the last week.

New Trek should have killed old habits - who gives a fig how big the Kelvin is, who cares if Starfleet underestimated the size of a crew in the 1960's that would be needed to survey a planet. Stop it, it's officially cool to like Trek now, don't be doing this obsessive compulsive stuff all over again.

It's cool to like Trek now because what's on screen is cool. Humour, big explosions, pretty ships and a very pretty cast - that's what's rejuvenated the franchise.

As long as that formula remains in place it's all good, and we can have both.

No, I'm with Pol Pot on this one and it's time to re-set the year to 'Year zero' and move on.

The Pol Pot comment was kind of in poor taste. I'd advise against going down that route in the future. It just leads to trouble. Also if you don't like reading certain threads stay out of them. We're certainly not going to listen to you whine about their existence.

As for "What Now?" people will continue to see the movie, they will continue to discuss it's pros and cons in depth, and life in the Trek XI forum will go on for a few more months. Seriously, what's the point of having a forum devoted to the new movie if nobody is supposed to talk about it? We're supposed to see the movie, praise the Lord Abrams, and weep quietly to ourselves in our bedrooms over how awesome/sucky it was? Not likely.

It's nice when I can answer a question so definitively.
