What Name did Captain Janeway’s Friends and Family Call Her?

And I spent over a dozen years in the Society for Creative Anachronism. My persona in that organization is Norwegian. Even to this day there are people who know me only as "Freydis" and would never call me anything else. I answer to that name as readily as my legal, given name.

If it wasn't so precious sounding I'd change my name to teacake. I've had this name 15 years now.

Her children growing up are going to call her sir.
Nah, she'll make them call her by rank.

Kid: "Mommy--"
Janeway: "That's ADMIRAL Mommy!"
It is my profound desire that Janeway never breed.

Other than the ones she already has in that mud hole that is.
Yeah, it's odd that in all the fanfic I've read about those salamander kids, not one of them has anything nice to say about the mother who abandoned them.

I haven't read most of the post-TV series novels. Did anyone ever ask Janeway why she deliberately abandoned her own offspring?

As I recall it has NEVER come up.

And don't forget Paris also abandoned them :D
True, although since she had the higher rank, it would be her final say that mattered. At least fanfic has remedied this egregious breach of parental responsibility

Chak calls her Kathryn in The Eternal Tide after she is returned to him (clothed) from the dead and takes him back into her bed.

So. Her flesh and blood lover calls her Kathryn. I think Katie is only used as a family diminutive.
If you're intimate with someone, would you really still call them by a formal name?
Has the writer actually had an ongoing sexual relationship?

Sure, if that's the name they prefer. Not everyone is comfortable with their nicknames or diminutives.

Though I like this idea, perhaps it means they weren't really lovers?
I love it when they call me "Big Poppa".

Wait wait I found THIS passage!

Chakotay was comfortable about calling his beloved Kathryn, thinking as he did that such intimacies diminutives of Kathryn pointed to were reserved for family. Until the day he overheard 7 as she returned a book of poems to the Captain pause after thanking her and add, blushing, "Katie".

Oh that was a great, great day.

Beloved??
It's like a sappy Harlequin Romance novel.

Tessa was beautiful, but there's a 40 percent chance that she was Captain Braxton in disguise. A 50 percent chance that she was a beautiful crewman from the Relativity reporting to Braxton, and a 10 percent chance that she's just some Voyager groupie with Daddy issues.

She calls herself Kathryn in Deadlock when she's speaking to other Janeway. I'm guessing she's pretty intimate with herself, so that's probably the name she prefers.

There's two types of people in the universe.

1. When they see a identical duplicate of themselves they want to kill it.

2. When they see a identical duplicate of themselves they want to frakk it.

Yes, yes, Will didn't seem to frakk or kill Tom, but what you're forgetting is that his stomach was already turned from killing a duplicate in up the long ladder and chose to steer Deanna's vagina at his doppelgänger instead.

Picard killed himself in Time Squared, and Shinzon tried to Kill Picard in the final awful movie.

These examples go on forever.

Animals have a fight or flight instinct, and civilized beings have a fight or fuck instinct.

God bless the world.

My younger sister's name is Cathryn. Almost everyone calls her Cathryn except my older sister and I - we call her Cathy. Sometimes I'll call her Katya just for fun!
