What Makes Star Trek Great.

While the initial premise was basic (Wagon Train to the Stars) it was so much more than that. It took a hard look at the present and then proceeded to extrapolate and give us a better future than we seem to be heading for, maybe even a future better than we deserve. It was optimistic, but didn't ignore the difficulties and mistakes we would make along the way.

Fascinating scripts, splendid actors and actresses, addressing the social issues of the time, there are so many things that makes Star Trek wonderful.

It is a show that has captivated me since its creation. Can't imagine the visual world without the Enterprise.

The sense of hope for the future and a thirst for the knowledge of continued exploration, of expanding one's horizons beyond what one is familiar with.
