What is your opinion of fan fiction/slash?

I see the word 'drabble' used frequently by fan fiction writers these days, and nearly always it is misused. 'Drabble' is a transitive or intransitive verb (not a noun) meaning 'to make or become wet and soiled by dragging; draggle.' The proper word for the form of fan fiction described is 'dribble,' a noun which means 'a small quantity; a bit.'
Cicero, I hate to burst your bubble, but the term Drabble, note the capital D, refers to a short story of 100 words which is named for the writer Margaret Drabble.

Regarding the original question . . .

Fan fiction is a pretty broad category. Just like published fiction, there's the good, the bad and the really awful. I think there are some very good fan fic stories on this board.

As to slash, personally I have no interest in it.
