What is your favorite 80s movie franchise with at least 4 films?

Hellraiser is one of my favourites. The first two films are pretty good, and the third is a good cheesy slasher flick starring a very hot pre-DS9 Terry Farrell, although Pinhead devolves into a typical cackling Hollywood villain and a few of the other actors in the film are sub-par.

Once it gets to Hellraiser IV (aka Hellraiser: In Space!) I turn off as we enter bad DTV horror territory. However, I've read that Hellraiser is getting the reboot treatment recently so it may start being good again. In fact, what the hell is up with the reboot mania going on in Hollywood? Friday the 13th, Batman, James Bond, Star Trek - virtually every big property is undergoing the "back to the beginning" treatment...

Police Academy.

They were so 80's...so HBO. And as Mad Magazine said (more or less) "they were composed of mostly unfunny scenes that you could rearrange in any order without affecting the outcome of the movie."

I never saw #7.

Godfather was mostly 70s, again, only 3 movies.

.

First two Godfather films were in the 70s, part III was in 1990. It skipped the 80s entirely.

For me it's Indiana Jones. Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favorite film. The other three, while not up to the same standard as the first, are all immensely entertaining films.

GAWH! Movie franchises in the 80's? The idea makes my hair hurt.

But yeah, the Indiana Jones movies are good.

Back to the Future movies are good too, but I guess there are only 3 of those.

So I guess Harrison Ford takes the prize.

Two of the three classic trilogy were in the 80s. Plus there were the prequels. I'll bring down the wrath and say Star Wars. Also, the Indy Jones flicks. Both of these series had great longevity, and are still going strong.

Halloween
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm St.
Dawn of the Dead Movies
Texas Chainsaw Massacre's
Saw
Hellraiser's

That should tell you my taste in movies. Didn't include mummy, dracula, frankenstien, wolfman movies.

I want to say "Back to the Future" but there were only 3 movies....damn you Robert Zemeckis for not making a fourth installment!!! :scream:
