What is the worst Star Trek Episode????

You know, I've never seen Flashback, but I should, just out of historical interest.

It's not so bad if you ignore the boring plot and the boring dialogue and just look at the pretty clips of the Excelsior.

I'm the one who originally put down this episode and yet ironically I now feel compelled to defend it against this comment. It isn't all bad. George Takei's dialogue and performance are delightful and it's always cool to see Michael Ansara back in Star Trek. When Takei says, "who the hell are you?", I laughed out loud. Definitely the best moment in my very short experience watching Voyager.

I guess I should've clarified a bit, it was Janeway and Tuvok and the brain parasite plot that I found boring. Sulu and a few other familiar faces in this were nice to see again.

That's one reason why I haven't seen it, because the "brain parasite" plot is, well...

It's so Voyager.

You'd think, in an episode called Flashback, would it be so hard, so radical to have, you know, a flashback?

I've never at all understood Trek's absolute aversion to structuring a story with even a little bit of nonlinearity, like someone telling a story to other crew members, or someone just remembering an event. The only one that even comes off the top of my head is In the Pale Moonlight. Even AGT, which was about nonlinear time, still managed to be a totally linear story.

Threshold is the worst episode of Star Trek. Ironic that an episode that beats evolution to death is the only just argument against a loving God.

Here we have a series that looks at a future world where technology has enabled humans to do amazing things such as travelling faster than the speed of light, control anti matter, etc. A managed universe where science reigns supreme and then into it pops this 'supernatural' figure who can basically do anything he likes. Come off it!!

I don't remember enough Voy or Ent because I haven't re-watched them like I've re-watched TNG and DS9, and I have to admit to not seeing all of TOS so my selection comes from TNG and DS9:

TNG - Shades of Gray
TNG - Sub Rosa
DS9 - Melora
Ds9 - Meridian (like someone said, the A story is terrible but the story is ok)

I think DS9's "Profit and Lace" is the worst episode. The blatant sexism is appalling.

However, (dis)honorable mention goes to "These Are the Voyages", "Sub Rosa", and "Badda-Bing Badda-Bang".

Hmm..this is a tough question. "Threshold" had a good storyline..but a bad ending. i tolerated it, but didn't really enjoy it.
BTW, I loved "Friday's Child"! It was actually one of my favorite episodes, believe it or not.
One TOS episode that makes me wanna scream is the "I am Nomad" ep with that dumb looking computer like robot. I just wanted to shoot that thing and say SHUT UP WITH THE I AM NOMAD CRAP-OLA!
In TNG, the very last episode made me cringe.
DS9: Uh..not for sure..haven't seen this show in years.

"Sub Rosa" is the awfullest piece of shit in all of Trek, IMHO. "Threshold", "TATV", "Let he who is without sin", "Endgame" and "Fury" are also aweful.
"Masks" also springs to mind, but that's more of a "what were they smoking when they wrote this?" episode.
"Meridian"'s A-plot is crap, but the B-plot saved the episode from appearing on my list.

I agree with you about both eps. But the one where Wesley's almost executed for walking on the grass had a great line from Worf, after he's given a welcome hug by a pretty woman: "Nice planet!"

Blasphemy! And not just because he's omnipotent. I thought Q was the one character you could always count on to anchor a solid episode whenever he was featured...even on "Voyager" where I disliked every episode I saw, except the ones he was in.

Though I agree that the "Nemesis" movie and some TOS and Voyager episodes were awful or pointless, "A Night in Sickbay" inspired me to stop watching Enterprise for a year. No other Star Trek episode ever made me give up, even temporarily, on a series.
Sure, Kirk faced a few cringe-worthy situations in episodes like "The Omega Glory," and the actions of Voyager characters occasionally were bizarre such as in "Fury."
However, the flat-out stupidity and unprofessionalism the writers attributed to Archer in this episode undermined too much credibility in the show for me.
I did start watching the show again by the late 3rd season, though, and I enjoyed the fourth season.

I see it more as an homage to the old axiom "there's always a bigger fish".

Anyhoo, for myself, the worst Star Trek episode ever, would have to be "These Are The Voyages". It had so, so, so much potential, and I think they just squandered it all for cheap effects and hokey writing.
