For the past few weeks I have been seeing television commercials for the new Lexus LFA sports car. I thought it looked pretty nice and I am looking to buy a sports car within the next 3 years so I decided to check it out.
The base price is $375,000!
Well that is one car I wont be driving anytime soon, but it got me wondering. Why pay for the advertising for a car that a majortity of the people who are watching prime time tv can't afford? Sure there might be a few milionaires watching "Hells Kitchen" or "America's Got Talent" but it probably aint that many and there is no chance they even want to buy that car.
To me paying to advertise an extremely expense car that most of the masses cannot even afford is a waste of money. I dont see Ferrari advertising and heck I haven't seen a commercial for a Corvette (way more affordable) in years.
I think Lexus' advertising campaign for this new car is a waste of money.
