What is the furthest you have been from home?

16563 km from Brisbane, Australia to Chipping Norton, UK. I've been further north in England but can't be bothered to hunt down the furthest plus I can't remember half of the names of towns and villages I've visited or stayed in over in England...I think I stayed in a town fairly close to Scotland.

That would be Auckland, New Zealand. I live in Greece, so that's quite a distance. (The link in the first post of this thread says it's 17712.06 km - or 11006.06 miles.)

The furthest I have traveled without leaving my country is 4945 miles or 7957 km. :p
Other than that it was Washington DC, 3902 miles or 6278 km.

Furthest away from Norrtelje, Sweden, where I currently live, have been Atlanta, Georgia, USA. A distance of 4653 miles, or more properly 7488 kilometers.

From the UK, Memphis I guess (call it Four thousand Two hundred odd miles) as part of a US Roadtrip I was doing with a couple of friends

About 5500 miles between Minneapolis, MN to Istanbul, Turkey. There's also a Minneapolis in Kansas, apparently...that's more than a little strange.

9650.75 miles from Fairfax, VA to Singapore.

However, at the time I visited Singapore, "home" was Massachusetts.

if we will consider home to be the place you are currently living at.

The furthest away I have been from Hobart is Esperance, Western Australia which is about 2420km (as the crow flies - about 1500 miles) or 3623km by road.

If I ever make my dream trip to Iceland I will be 17,900 km from home (about 10,900miles)

Here is a distance calculator to help you work out your answers to my question.

Your distance calculator is pretty useless. Neither city I plugged in is in the calculator.

The funny thing is... They're Venice, CA and Boston, MA.

Pretty well-known US cities.

Who knew there was a Boston in the Philippines, tho?

So, figure about 3000 miles.

Probably cause Venice, CA isn't a city. :p LA absorbed it back in '25.

Distance is 4166.43km.

It's still a post office address: Venice, CA 90291
