What is it about Paterson Joseph?

I think he could be great as an adversarial Time Lord; maybe some 200-year old upstart willing to make a name for himself, not someone who's been owned by the Doctor every single time they've met.

Nah Elba's great but not as Who, make a better 007!

From a recent interview:
Elba was asked if he would "get in the cab" to Bond studio Sony's office to talk about the role. "I'd not only get in the cab," he said, "but I'd take the taxi driver out of the car, hostage. The taxi: jump out while it was moving, jump on to a pedal bike that was just past the door as I got on it, and then get on a plane – on the wing – land on top of Sony Studios, slide through the air conditioning, and land in the office." For good measure, Elba added: "I'm never shaken or stirred."
:)

;)

That's brilliant!

Although my money's on Michael Fassbender to be the next Bond...

He was rubbish in Jekyll.

Yeah he was in fairness, but he was given a lousy character to play. The last thing I saw him in was Survivors, and he was very good in that though, so it really does depend on the nature of the role.

Obviously he may not even play the doctor like Carrabas, but still after Eccleston (gruff) Tennant (cheeky geeky cool) and Smith (absent minded professor) I think it's about time the Doctor was a bit foppish again

It'd be worth it for the multi Doctor story...

"Oh goodness me, did I really used to dress like a spiv, and you, what's with the bow tie." Adjusts ruffled shirt...

And PJ was damaged by his appearance as Rodrick in BW/PotW. That character was a major loser, and that's all I can see, not what he did in Neverwhere. Or whatever it was called.

Very good actor, haven't seen much of his TV stuff but he has a huge presence on stage and has worked with the National Theatre quite a bit.

I think in general the media fixate on certain names and he's the one at the moment in the way that Bill Nighy used to be - don't think there's any particular reason.

Personally after having seen him be incredible in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead I would put Jamie Parker in the role when Matt leaves.
