What if the Enterprise-A lost her primary hull in Star Trek VI?

What if a Klingon BOP fires a photon torpedo to the connecting dorsal of the Enterprise-A between the primary and secondary hulls in the end of Star Trek VI? The Enterprise-A saucer section was severed from the secondary hull, Excelsior beamed all of the crew of the primary hull of the Enterprise aboard, just as the Enterprise-A's fusion reactors overloaded and destroyed the entire primary hull. What would happen?

what wouldnt happen? neelix would time travel backwards with a bunch of borg drones and dance the damage away.

What would've happened? Kirk would've had Scotty out there with the biggest roll of duct tape you ever saw.

What if I ate 17 roast beef sandwiches from Arby's and then drank a gallon of their fantastic three-pepper sauce?

What if boogers were currency?

What if it was suddenly revealed that porcupines were actually just hedgehogs in elaborate costumes?

What would happen then?

That right there actually seems to be a pretty succinct description.

How about Kirk rides the saucer section planetside crashing into the conference room and saving day.

The soon to be mothballed Enterprise-A takes the hit instead of my beloved Enterprise-D as Generations is rewritten to avoid scene duplication.
