What if Stiles was the spy?

So I'm watching BoT for the millionth and 9th time and it struck me. What if Stiles was the spy he spoke of? He did collapse when the order to fire was given. He did shoo Spock away when he offered help. If he wasn't a spy he would have been a solid addition to the bridge crew. So what gives?

If Stiles were the spy, it would definitely follow the old saying, "Me thinks he protests too much!!"
