For some reason, I found the bit where they wrote the writers insist they grew up on the novel, JJ Abrams said he preferred The Deep to be pretty damn funny.

I will say, if they ever decided to do a Jaws remake (and I hope to hell they never do), Samuel L. Jackson as Quint would be awesome.

"You want my blood, Jaws? Take my blood!"
 
The only thing missing is the prequel graphic novel that delves into the genetic engineering that went horribly wrong...
 
- Sam Worthington stars as Chief Brody. He has an extensive backstory where we learn that during his time as an NYPD cop he killed a kid on the Staten Island Ferry. Since then he has been afraid of water, and unwilling to use a gun.

Maybe a flashback(Abrams!) where a great white kills Brody's girlfriend or brother.

- Of course there's a CGI shark, but this CGI shark will be doing things no other CGI shark has ever done, including insane acrobatics. But more importantly this is a character story, so Andy Serkis will be hired to do the mocap for the CGI shark.

- The shark is defeated when Brody, remembering a passage in one of the old books he flipped through, realizes this is his Destiny. He is finally able to pull the trigger, exploding the oxygen tank in the shark's mouth. This, of course, happens after a 20 minute aquatic chase through a marina, an off-shore oil platform and a water park.

They CANNOT remake this movie!!! Ugh....

My favoritist movie of all time, I can't see how they can remake it. Just can't see it. Please please please please DONT remake this movie!!!!!!
 
Samuel L. Jackson? Genetic engineering? Sharks doing shit that sharks can't do?

And if anyone tries to re-make Jaws, I will have them rounded up and fucking fed to a god damn shark.
 
Jaws would be horrible. The late 70s, 80s and early 90s were the best time ever for filmmaking because there was this wonderful balance between abilities and limitations. That is lost today.

Today they would not be forced to hide the shark as best as possible. They would not be forced to get creative to create suspense in another way. Today they can do everything they want, and they do everything they want. And the result is worse movies. Just look at the original SW trilogy vs. the new trilogy. Jurassic Park III vs. Jurassic Park I.
