What if:Goa'ould/Lucian Alliance/Aschen alliance vs Tauri war?

Let's conjecture for a moment an intelleigent goa'ould realizes his race is doomed alone. This goa'old forms an alliance with the Ascen to crush the Tauri.

I'd imagine the combination of alien tech the Ascen have available plus fighting the few, last goaould who've outlasted their less intelligent predecessors would make a worse enemy than the Ori.

What do yall think the outcome would be of a Gould/Ascen/Lucian alliance war with the Tauri/Tok'ra?

The issue is that the Ori weren't directly at war with Earth, they were at war with the Ancients and needed to convert enough people to Origin to gain enough strength to fight them.

The Goa'uld and the Lucian Alliance can be dealt with. The Aschen, on the other hand, are an unknown quantity. When Earth talked about allying with them they were discussing targeted biological weapons, not mass battles in ships.

The Aschen alliance probably has more ships than us, I'd think they would have gave us a pretty good beating pre-Asgard core upgrades. But as the above poster pointed out, they were into more long term goals, and might not have fought hand to hand or ship to ship and preffered a more slower method or maybe biological weapons. They would probably have been more prone to fight with us though considering we locked their homeworld into a black hole. It might have made a nice conflict that IMO would have been a lot better to explore than the Ori.

If you think about it,the Aschen tried the slow and steady method of conquering:and ended up with their homeworld (possibly) stuck to a singularity.

That would be enough motivation for a change in strategy to a more 'hands on' tactics.

Wouldn't work. The three have too different tactics to successfully work together. Also, their inherent "weaknesses" would cause any alliance to break apart.

The Goa'uld would want to control everything, which would cause friction with the Ashen who like to be in charge of everything. Also, everything would have to be done how the Goa'uld wanted. If anything went different, the person responsible would be killed. In addition, the Goa'uld's ego would cause them to conquer their allies.

The Ashen, as stated above, would want to be in charge, but the Goa'uld probably won't let them. They also tend to work slowly and the Goa'uld and the LA would want to strike as fast as possible. Also, the Ashen would probably be looking for ways to conquer both the LA and the Goa'uld.

The LA, as a group, are too ADD to successfully work with anyone. They would want to get something out of it if possible, but would also completely disregard any pre-arranged plan if they see something they want in the short run. The group is too much about "the now" as opposed to long-term thinking.

The Goa'uld would just kill everyone in the Lucian Alliance and take their ships back, for starters.

Earths 3 ships, each capable of thumping out high powered Asgard plasma beam weapons would wipe them out faster than the Ori did with the Milky Way fleet when they came through the supergate.

Compared to the other known races Earth is now 'Top Dog' and completely unequalled technologically and militarily. After the Asgard upgrades even just one Earth ship managed to take down several Ori motherships and withstand several shots from the Ori superweapons.

Earth is unbeatable and will be even moreso when they build more ships.

^I'd agree about that if it was just the Goa'uld or the Lucian Alliance. However, the Aschen are an unknown quantity. We just don't know where their ships stand in the overall scheme of things.

Remember, the Ancients had technological superiority over the Wraith but they still lost due to the Wraith's superior numbers.

The Aschen, also, are not above using biological weapons. They could, for all we know, send a ship to Earth, it drops out of hyperspace close to the planet and before we can do anything about it or get anyone in to the Ancient outpost they've dropped biological weapons on to a few major cities.

^ but surely in a time of war we'd have ships in orbit ready to deal with any ships that come out of Hyperspace.

We have three ships carrying weapons with limited range. That's not enough to cover the entire planet.

If the Stargate was public knowledge, we would be better off constructing a network of defence satellites that can target and destroy any incoming hostile craft.

That's one thing I never liked about Stargate... you can't detect a craft travelling in Hyperspace. In other words if a craft drops out of Hyperspace by the time you even realise it's there it's already fired its weapons. Even the Lost Tribe Asgard were able to exit Hyperspace literally near the planets surface.
Realistically even with weapon satellites they could never detect, alter position to lock onto the hostile craft and fire weapons fast enough.

To have any viable means of defence the Earth would need a network of Satellites in a grid like fashion capable of producing a planetary shield.

As long as they don't put Daniel in charge of the project it should turn out OK. :techman:
