What If: Enterprise E stranded in Delta Quadrant?

On the subject of the EMH I doubt there would be any need for him at all if the E-E were in the DQ instead of the Voyager even if Beverley were to get killed. The reason being because the E-E has around 7 or 8 times more crew than the Voyager and would obviously have a more sizeable Medical staff with at least more than one Doctor. So if Crusher died then all Picard would have to do is promote the next Doctor or most senior Medical Person with the proper quialifications to CMO and that would be that.

So, it's possible that almost all, if not all, of Enterprises medical staff would be killed as well

The 1701D had Dr. Salar, and crusher mentions that it would be ridiculous for her to be the only doctor on board the 1701D in Remember Me. The full size of Crusher's medical staff is never revealed, but it should have been a good sized complement of doctors and nurses. It would be safe to conclude that the 1701E had more than one doctor. Even Kirk's 1701 had at least 2 doctors on staff.

Now Voyager left without a full crew (I seem to remember Janeway mentioning that). It was suppossed to be a quick mission (A 3 hour tour. A 3 hour tour.) But the displacement wave (The weather starting getting rough. The tiny ship was tossed.) was enough to overload some of the equipment in sickbay killing the only doctor and nurses with which they left. The large sickbay and multiple doctors, some of whom would have been off duty, on the 1701E would mean Picard would have had another doctor to make CMO. Remember CMO is a position, not a rank, so an ensign doctor could be the CMO.

Aboard the D, Beverly had multiple doctors and what not...
But given the fact that the Federation had just been through a war with the dominion AND there were less people (no families) aboard, I doubt there would be the supply or for that matter the demand of multiple doctors aboard the Enterprise-E

Also, with EMH's aboard the ships, you don't really need too many human "back up" doctors.

^Assuming the Enterprise E was lost DURING the war, not before like around the events of First contact or after like around the time of Nemesis.

And given the attitude they had toward the doctor first and as Beverly did in First Contact, they wouldn't see that way. They would rather have a bunch of real live doctors than a couple of EMHs.

You know before we ask ourselves what would happen if certain crewmembers died we should find out if the displacement wave would cause the Enterprise-E as much damage as it caused Voyager.

I was think more along the lines of better shielded equipment that would be less likely to overload and explode.

Perhaps Enterprise would have fared a little better, but the Enterprise has a long history of exploding consoles herself

Picard would have been way more diplomatic towards all the races he encountered, and if they still insisted upon fighting, the E would have no problem at all. As for Quinn wanting to commit suicide, Picard would have trie dto talk him out of it, then let him do it with a line like "It's every senient being's right to choose" or some crap like that. On the Borg, Picard would have avoided them at all costs. If he had a choice b/t the Borg and Species 472, he would have tried negotiating with Species 8472 to form an alliance against the Borg.

His stance on the Marquis crew "You've betrayed the uniform!" (if they were former Starfleet). He'd have found somewhere for them to work, and the E wouldn't be as reliant on the marquis b/c of the larger crew complement. Not all the medical staff would die, so no EMH issue. If he picked up Kes, her and Troi would get a long nicely... probably Data, too.

Agreed. I think Data deserved a chance to stretch his command wings some more, and I doubt Picard would have given the maquis much of a role. There would have been a mutiny plotline followed by most of the maquis dropping themselves off on some random planet.
